Call for papers

On behalf of the members of the Organizing and Technical Program Committees, we would like to invite you for this scientific and technical event related to the fields of LEOS. We can assure you that the IEEE/LEOS Benelux Annual Workshop 2007 will meet your expectations with technically and socially rewarding experiences for all of you.

Our goal is to provide a common forum especially for young researchers in order to interact with other scientists and professors from universities and research centers in the Benelux.

This year’s workshop is honored by the invited talk of a LEOS Distinguished Lecturer, Bishnu P. Pal from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi, India. The topic of his talk is on "Guided Wave Optical Components".

It has become a tradition to invite an excellent PhD student from a university of the Benelux to give a presentation. The junior invited speaker of this edition is Günther Roelkens from the Ghent University in Belgium. His talk is entitled "Heterogeneous integration of SOI waveguides and III-V active devices"

Workshop objectives

	To create a specific workshop focused to recognize and evaluate the emerging ideas and technologies of Optical Devices and Materials from the research level to future commercial applications.
	To encourage young researchers to publish their work, to hear the latest research in the field of LEOS within the Benelux and to network with their peers.

	Deadline for submission of two-page manuscript: April 13th 2007
	Notification to authors: End of April 2007
	Registration deadline: May 18th 2007

Registration

The registration fees are: 35 Euros per person, 25 Euros for IEEE/LEOS members, 10 Euros for students. The fees include coffee breaks, lunch and workshop proceedings.
